Santa Welcomed His Friends to Monterey Park’s Snow Village
Santa was joined by many of his friends at Barnes Park on December 7th to enjoy playing in 20 tons of snow.
5,000 residents and their guests were expected to attend the Snow Village.
The park was decorated with Santa’s and the Grinch for the little ones to enjoy.
The Farmers’ Market was available for everyone to purchase produce and purchase their freshly cooked dinners.
The event also featured local venders selling art works, jewelry and more. Several businesses had booths that provided information about their services.
Young children and their parents played in the snow. They also tossed snowballs at their friends.
Young children enjoyed the two sled runs as they raced down the hill. Some parents enjoyed the ride too.
Children of all ages enjoyed a Train Ride around the Tennis/Pickleball court.
Santa’s Toy Shop was sponsored by the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library as children created Christmas Tree decorations and played fishing for the bells using a candy card with a magnet that located the bells in a pool of white cotton balls.
The Monterey Park Police Department welcomed the residents to this event. They passed out Holiday bags and paper badges. A young girl and her mother enjoyed sitting a motorcycle for a picture.
Members of Los Angeles County had an Employment booth as they advertised their employment opportunities.
Members of the Garvey School Board shared their information with families that live in the School District.
Members of the Monterey Park Fire Department welcomed the residents to this event.
They provided safety information for the Holidays.
Some young children enjoyed tossing plastic snowballs at each other.
The Grinch posed for pictures with his friends in the park.
Children of all ages were enjoying the Snow Village in Barnes Park.
The Snow Village was gift to the residents from the city employees and several local businesses.
The City of Monterey Park is 7.73 square miles in size and located in the San Gabriel Valley, just east of Los Angeles. Incorporated on May 29, 1916, it is a city that combines almost a century of history and tradition with a modern approach to business, neighborhoods, people, and community.
