Independence Day Celebration in Monterey Park
Gabriel, Ryan and John, veterans from American Legion Post 397 presented our colors and led our Pledge of Allegiance.
Happy 4th of July decorations were displayed at the Barnes Park Amphitheater for the July 1st celebration.
Master Sgt. Jeff Gold welcomed the guests to Monterey Park’s celebration. He introduced members of the Air National Guard Band of the West Coast. He introduced Major S. Huff as the Band Director.
Major S. Huff welcomed all of the guests to enjoy their music.
Members of the band played many old classic songs as well as modern songs to the delight of the audience.
Sgt. Sarah Kumazawa sang “God Bless America” and several newer songs. She has a beautiful voice.
The band played songs dedicated to our Army, our Marine Corps, our Navy, our Air Force, our Space Force and our Coast Guard. They are our armed forces of the United States.
Later that evening our Elected Officials welcomed the audience to our celebration.
Kayln & The New Frontier is Southern California’s newest cover band in demand. Hailing from all over the Greater Los Angeles area and Nashville, each member of this band knows a thing or two about popular music.
They played and the audience, both young and older, danced around the stage.
It was a very happy celebration.
The evening ended with our Fire Works that light up our skies.
The Fire Works remind us of The Star-Spangled Banner
“O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?”
May God continue to bless us and our United States of America.
