Monterey Park Fire Fighters Hosted a Barbeque Benefit
Members of Monterey Park Fire Department held a Barbeque on March 25th to support our “Community Healing Fund”. The event was held at the Picnic Pavilion at Barnes Park.
The tickets were $5 each to enjoy a Hamburger or Cheeseburger complete with fixings, a bag of Chick-Fli-A potato chips and a soft drink or a bottle of cold water.
The fire fighters cooking up the delicious lunches over very hot grills and served them to their guests.
Larry Sullivan, Carol Sullivan, former Mayor Mike Eng, Councilmember Vinh Ngo and Fire Fighter D. Cain enjoyed the festivities.
Residents along with their family members, guests, city employees and Los Angeles County Fire Fighters joined in a long line to purchase their lunch tickets to support our community.
Councilmember Henry Lo stood alongside of our Fire Engine from Station #63.
Family members that included a dog enjoyed their delicious lunch.
City Treasurer Amy Lee visited with Councilmember Henry Lo and Councilmember Vinh Ngo at the party.
City Clerk Maychelle Yee, Councilmember Henry Lo, Councilmember Vinh Ngo, City Clerk Amy Lee and her son Nicholas enjoyed the celebration.
Dora Leung, Vince Chang, Councilmember Vinh Ngo, Councilmember Henry Lo, Mayor Pro Tem Thomas Wong and Sam Luk joined in the celebration.
The event was held from 12 Noon until 3 PM with hundreds of people joining together to support our community.
All the funds were donated to the Community Healing Fund to support the victims and their families of the January 21st event.
At the April 5th City Council Meeting our fire fighters said they raise $5,685.74 within 3 hours for the fund. They thanked the residents for their support. They thanked the many companies that donated food, paper goods and more.
We are a strong Monterey Park family!
