Holiday Snow Village
Santa Clause greeted his friends at Elder Park in Monterey Park on December 8th as 3,000 residents and their friends enjoyed playing in the snow.
Councilmember Yvonne Yiu and her family enjoyed the celebration.
Children of all ages sledded down the hillside to their delight. Many Monterey Park residents were not raised in “Snow Country” so this is a new experience for them.
Residents both young and old enjoyed playing in the snow. They made snow balls and tossed them at each other. Some of them made snow angels in honor of the event.
Councilmember Vinh Ngo joined his family members who were enjoying the sled rides.
The city gifted our residents with 20 tons of snow for the Holidays.
Young children enjoyed tossing Cotton Snow Balls at each other.
The park was decorated with several inflated Christmas decorations.
Jack Skellington from “Nightmare Before Christmas” joined the party as he met with his friends.
This famous event was held during the Farmers Market. Several residents did their shopping and visited the various information booths.
It was the beginning of the Christmas holiday season in Monterey Park.
