National Night Out for 2021 in Monterey Park CA
Each year, National Night Out traditionally occurs on the first Tuesday in August, which this year falls on August 3, 2021. National Night Out was first established in 1984 by Matt Peskin of the National Association of Town Watch.
Matt Peskin established the non-profit National Association of Town Watch in 1981, working with community leaders, law enforcement agencies, and local officials to advance crime and drug prevention.
It is celebrated in the United States of America, some parts of Canada and other locations across the world when neighbors join with their local police officers to discuss how to keep their neighborhoods safe from crime and drugs.
The celebration usually held at City Hall was cancelled this year due to the various Pandemics.
This year the Monterey Park Police Officers held a drive by event in Barnes Park and handed out bags of goodies to many local residents.
Hopefully next year we can all join together to celebrate our friendships.
