Monterey Park voters are very happy to hear that our five district lines will not be changing based on the 2020 Census.

Voters who live in District 1 and District 5 were not able to vote in the 2020 City Council Election.

If the district lines have been changed voters in District 1 and District 5 may have had their districts changed to another district and not be able to vote in the 2022 City Council Election.

The City Council voted not to change the district lines as it may have been viewed as voter suppression.

Our City Council was threatened by Kevin Shenkman of Malibu, CA in 2019 because he believed that we violated the California Voting Rights Act.

He was acting on behalf of his client, the Southwest Voter Registration Education Project that was founded to promote Latino or Hispanic candidates to win a public office.

Councilmembers Peter Chan, Hans Liang, Stephen Lam, Mitch Ing and Teresa Real Sebastian approved the change from voting at large to voting by district in the 2020 Council Election to prevent the city from being sued.

Rumor has it that an elected official approached Kevin Shenkman about the possible problems of electing a Hispanic candidate in our First Suburban Chinatown.

The 2010 Census had 28% of the population stated they are Hispanic, 5% of the population stated they are White, less the 1% of the population stated they are Black and the balance of the population stated they are Asian.

After many meetings with a consultant the final voting map was drawn up as Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 based on the original City Council members seats held in 1916.

Since Peter Chan and Hans Liang were voted to serve until 2022, they kept their seats.

Hans Liang lives in District 1 and Peter Chan lives in District 5.

Candidates for District 2 were Bob Gin, Yvonne Yiu, Jennifer Love Tang, and Lorraine E Martinez.

Yvonne Yiu won the district.

Candidates for District 3 were Allan Shatkin and Fred Sornoso.

Fred Sornoso won the district.

Candidates for District 4 were Henry Lo and Leilani Morales.

Henry Lo won the district.

I find it very interesting that after spending thousand of hours and our hard-earned tax dollars that the ratio is still one Hispanic Councilmember to four Asian Councilmembers.

The US Census Bureau must not have studied Anthropology and Biology before they created the Census Forms since Hispanic is not a race but an ethnicity.

“The Geographic Isolation and the Three Great Human Races . In the last 5,000- 7,000 of years, the geographic barrier split our species into three major races): Negroid (or Africans), Caucasoid (or Europeans) and Mongoloid (or Asians).”

People can have DNA from one or more of these races in their families.

Anthropologists can determine a person’s race based on their skull.

There are two known sexes based on science:

“A person with XX chromosomes usually has female sex and reproductive organs, and is therefore usually assigned biologically female. A person with XY chromosomes usually has male sex and reproductive organs, and is therefore usually assigned biologically male.”

Anthropologists can determine  a person’s sex based on their bone structure.

Now if you follow the news,  this has been reported in Los Angeles of a male feeling that he is female has paraded around a spa as female displaying his male organ for all to see.

Another case that has been reported in Virginia a 17-year- old male wearing a skirt sexual attacked a female student in the girl’s restroom.

Her parents reported the event to the police and the school district.

The school district just transferred the student to another school where he assaulted another girl in a class room.

The 17-year-old student has been arrested and is expected to be tried in court for this offence and the new offence.

Conservative people know letting people feel that they are a guy or a girl will cause more problems in the future.

Women in California Prisons are very concerned that males serving time want to be moved in the Women’s’ Prisons because they feel like a woman.

I am one of many people that believe these men just want to have female sex partners available to them.

Women, men and young children should be protected from violent rapists in their homes, in their schools, out in public and in our prison systems.

Our world is going crazy with the violent people not being arrested, charged with a crime and sentenced to prison time.

Some cities are just letting these thugs free to destroy personal or public property, to rob others so they can take the fruit of another person’s labor, to rape a woman or a man or a small child and to kill anyone they want to for their own selfish reasons.

Since our Police Officers have been handcuffed by some politicians it is time to vote these self-serving elected officials out of office.

Our United States citizens deserve better elected officials to serve them since we pay their salaries with our hard-earned tax dollars.

Please be sure to vet your candidates that are running to be elected in 2022 and 2024.

Our freedoms in our United States of America are hanging in the balance.

Or do you want to continue to live in our “Land of the free and the home of the brave”?

The choices we make today will be the gift or the curse we pass on to our children, our grandchildren, our great grandchildren and their children.

This Thanksgiving Holiday we should be very grateful that we still live in our United States of America.
