Open Letter to Monterey Park Residents
Since the Monterey Park Lions Club was chartered in 1937, we have serve our community with pride and dignity.
Due to recent decisions made by counsel we find it necessary to vacate the premises located in Barnes Park known as the Service Club House; a building we have occupied since 1957.
We have had a long relationship with the city and will continue to maintain relations if allowed.
Serving the Monterey Park community has been the Lions Club primary goal and we strive to continue as long as we are able.
We plan to continue our Annual Eye Screening Program as long as we can or as funds allow. This along with our Annual Pancake Breakfast have been signature events for the Lions Club. Regretfully, we will no long have a Pancake Breakfast due to the present situation.
At this point in time the Monterey Park Lions are asking the city to grant us 60-90 days to relocate equipment and supplies.
The Monterey Park Lions would like to thank the City for all it has done for our Club and we hope to maintain a healthy relationship in the future. And as in past years we will continue to serve our community with pride and dignity.
