All Comers Summer Run

Southern California Road Runners of Walnut, Inc. has scheduled four “All Comers Races” for Creekside Park, 780 Creekside Dr. near Amar Road in Walnut, on Saturday, Aug. 22.

The event is the Southern California Road Runners 4th Annual Summer Run, where runners can choose from a half-mile up to three miles depending upon age.

All runners in the half-mile race (age eight and younger) will receive bouncy castle for sale a ribbon and the fastest boy and girl will receive a special award. In the mile race for ages nine and ten, all runners will receive a ribbon and there will be a special award to the fastest three boys and girls.  In the two-mile and three-mile races, the top three runners in each different age group will receive an award. An award also will be given to the fastest high school boy and girl. The overall fastest male and female runners in both the two-mile and three mile races will each receive a $35 gift certificate, announced Southern California Road Runners Coach Danny Castro.

Castro announced the half-mile and mile races will stay in Creekside Park, and the

two-mile and three-mile races will start on grass in the park and go out and back over rolling hills on dirt trails and the course will not run on a city street.

Registration is $5 for half-mile or mile races, $10 for either the two-mile or three-mile race or $15 for both two and three mile races.  The registration fee does not include a

tee-shirt.

Participants can pre-register on www.Active.com or mail a completed entry form and fee (check made payable to Southern California Road Runners of Walnut) to Coach Danny Castro, So Cal Road Runners of Walnut, 639 Canyon Hill Rd., San Dimas, CA 91733.  Runners can get the form by visiting www.scrrofwalnut.org or calling Castro at 626-622-8569.  Runners also can register starting at 7 a.m. at Creekside Park on race day.

The first race will the two-mile at 8 a.m.
