Monterey Park Water Restrictions

The Monterey Park City Council majority (Wong, Lau, Chu and Venti) voted to amend the Municipal Code Sections 1.08.010, 14.08.090 and 14.08.100 during the August 5 meeting due to the current drought conditions.

Municipal Code Section 14.08.090 states in part “No consumer shall permit leaks or waste of water”.

The Council pledged to educate the business owners and residents on the new restrictions.

The language closely follows Los Angeles County’s recent Phased Water Conservation Plan amendments and is consistent with the Main San Gabriel Basin Watermaster’s and Department of Water Resources’ suggested response to the current drought conditions.

This ordinance will be a major step towards bouncy castle for sale implementing a more effective drought management plan in the city.

Councilmember Ing voted against these code amendments because he believes 30 days is not enough time to educate all the business owner and residents on the new laws.
