Local Residents And Businesses–You May Be Asked For Your Opinion On The City Of Monterey Park’s Economic Future

The Monterey Park City Council has approved the development of a new Economic Strategic Plan that is taking an in-depth look at the City’s current and future economic position within the region. The recent economic crisis is challenging City leaders to ensure that the best strategies are being used to obtain the highest benefit for the community’s residents and businesses.

The Economic Development Strategic Plan is a comprehensive effort assessing the City of Monterey Park’s economic vitality and Brand perspective. This will help the community to understand how to align the City’s economic development policies within the region to meet future needs and recommend effective actions to fortify the City’s economic potential and the quality of life for its residents. The Branding process, which establishes the direction, leadership, clarity of purpose, inspiration and energy for a community’s most important asset, its public image will cultivate that image that best portrays this flourishing community.

The City of Monterey Park’s Economic Development Department and a team of consultants will be conducting extensive interviews with community leaders along with telephone surveys of both businesses and consumers in the surrounding market area from now and throughout August. We encourage anyone that is contacted to please participate, as your input and feedback are very impotent to the process.
