LETTER TO THE EDITOR

As American families everywhere gear for the summer with fun in the sun, vacations – some near, some afar, trips to the park, beach or amusement parks,  let’s remember the selfless sacrifice, uncommon valor, and answering the call to patriotic duty of our veterans, especially those wearing the Purple Heart.  Remember, as you play ball in the park there is a Soldier somewhere that forever has given up the use of his hands for you and I  – a Marine that forever has lost the ability to walk.  While you watch as your children laugh and play in the sun and see their smiles, remember there’s a Sailor who forever will dwell in darkness, because he give his eyes for us.  Now there is a way for us to forever show our respect and appreciation by supporting the issue of the United States Postal Service’s Purple Heart “Forever” Stamp.  This stamp can only become a reality through public support.  Most everyone claims to support the troops, and this is a way we can honor those whose lives  have changed forever so we may forever be free!
