Monterey Park City Councilmembers Teresa Real Sebastian, Anthony Wong, Peter Chen and Mitch Ing recognized three residents during their May 14 ceremony.

Michael Lee for aiding a local resident who was being attacked by a man with a hammer trying to steal her purse.  Mr. Lee was also awarded the Courageous Citizen Award from District Attorney Jackie Lacey on May 8, 2013, at the University Club of Pasadena.

Rita Miller for her many years of service to the community.

Huang Yen Kuei for helping an elderly gentleman suffering from Alzheimer who was wandering in his neighborhood. He took the man to the Police Station.
