Members of American Legion Post 397 in Monterey Park held their annual breakfast fundraiser on March 23 at the Post.

Congressmember Judy Chu presented proclamations to Auxiliary member Susan Franco and Commander Gabriel Suarez for their dedication to the Legion. Monterey Park Councilmember Peter Chan joined them for breakfast.

Monterey Park Councilmember Hans Liang also attended the breakfast with Peter Chan, Auxiliary member Susan Franco and Commander Gabriel Suarez.

Mayor Mitch Ing, City Treasurer Vince Chang and former Mayor Francisco Alonso enjoyed the delicious breakfast of pancakes and sausages. They joined with 200 other guests at the Post for this fundraiser.

Cooks in the kitchen included George, Alonso, Mike, Johnny, Rick and Jay.

The dedicated serving staff included veterans with their family members and friends.

Lou and Yolanda Reade, members of the Rosemead Kiwanis, enjoyed the good food and conversation.

Commander Gabriel Suarez said the American Legion was founded in 1919.  Monterey Park’s Legion Post 397 was established in 1928.

Members of the Post with their family and friends thanked everyone for their support.
