The City Council has set the Special Election for July 2.

The question on the ballot is from the Monterey Park Firefighters Association and members of the County Fire Union 1014.

Measure FF “Shall an ordinance amending the Monterey Park Municipal Code to authorize the City Council to transfer all functions of the Monterey Park Fire Department to the Consolidated Fire Protection District of Los Angeles County (AKA the Los Angeles County Fire Department) be adopted?”

This is the third time the residents of Monterey Park have been asked to vote on this issue.

In 1998 86% of the residents voted NO to going County.

In 1999 the residents voted Measure J into law to protect our Monterey Park from the Council majority voting to give our fire department to the County.

Please study this ballot measure very carefully and vote on July 2.
