1713 is the birth year of Father Junipero Serra, the founder of the California Mission. He was born in November 29, 1713.

1713 is a play written by Andrew Morales, Jr., a member of the Gabrieleno-Tongva tribe.

Andy Morales weaves his story with the history of his ancestors and Father Serra who established the San Gabriel Mission.

Bruce Buonauro, a re-enactor and a historian, who has researched Fr. Serra’s life for his re-enactment of Junipero Serra at the San Gabriel Mission, is helping to produce this play.

1713 will re-enact the struggle for existence of the Tongva tribe members against the Spanish soldiers stationed at the mission.
