SOROPTIMISTS HOST MOLECULAR BIOLOGIST
Dr. Maria Lauda Tomasi of USC will speak on “The Molecular Biology of Wine” on Tuesday, May 21, to Soroptimist International of Alhambra San Gabriel San Marino at their weekly luncheon, 12:15 at Almansor Court.
Tomasi is in residence at USC’s Department of Medicine. She has also worked for NASA and will talk about her job there, as well as about wine.
On May 14, Service Grants will be awarded to those organizations that were selected from applications for the most promising programs to help women and girls, the goal of the Soroptimist organization. Past President Emily Mayorga will be the M.C.
On May 28, Chris Olson of the Alhambra Preservation Group will talk about the current status of preserving significant architecture in Alhambra, and an upcoming tour of significant homes.
Everyone is welcome. The cost of the luncheon is $12. Almansor Court is located at 700 South Almansor near the corner of Mission and Chapel in Alhambra.
