Daycare Facilities Targeted by Vehicle Burglary
March 4, 2013 — Monterey Park Police are warning residents to beware of vehicle burglaries occurring at child daycare facilities and preschools. During the month of February, several victims reported that their vehicle windows were smashed; purses and personal property were taken while victims checked their children into daycare. Residents are warned not to leave any personal property in their vehicles, even for a short period of time. The burglaries occurred within a five minute time frame and the property taken was left in plain sight in the victim vehicles. Within a short time period after the burglaries occurred, credit cards belonging to victims were used to purchase gas, food, and various merchandise on the internet.
Police investigators recently arrested Tamara Rios, 20, of West Covina, for alleged burglary and forgery in connection with a vehicle burglary that occurred in the 300 block of N. Alhambra Ave. Two additional suspects are wanted in connection with that crime. The suspect vehicle, silver 1999 Dodge Durango, was recently impounded and several designer brand purses and wallets were located in the vehicle. Police are seeking additional victims who may be able to identify the recovered property.

Suspects Identified in Daycare Related Vehicle Burglaries
March 7, 2013 — Monterey Park Police are looking for two men in connection with vehicle burglaries and credit card fraud in Monterey Park and in the greater San Gabriel Valley area.
The suspects were identified during the investigation of a vehicle burglary that occurred in the area of Alhambra Ave. and Emerson Ave. in Monterey Park in January 2013. Warrants have been issued for both suspects in connection with the case.
Brian Gilbert Renteria, age 25, a parolee-at-large and is known to be armed and dangerous. He is wanted for a parole violation in addition tothe Monterey Park burglary. He may also be involved in burglaries from daycare centers in the Arcadia area. Renteria is a Hispanic male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 230-300 lbs. with brown hair and eyes. Renteria has distinctive tattoos of “SSG” on the right side of his face. Renteria is believed to be a transient staying in motels in the San Gabriel Valley area.
Police are also looking for Jerry Angelino Ristich, age 25, of Monterey Park. Ristich is a Hispanic Male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 190 lbs. with brown hair and eyes.

The suspect vehicle, a silver 1999 Dodge Durango, was recently impounded and several designer brand purses, wallets, and keys to luxury automobiles were located in the vehicle. Theft of UPS Packages from Monterey Park Home Caught on Video
March 13, 2013 — Monterey Park Police are seeking three suspects in an alleged theft that was captured by a resident’s video surveillance camera.
The theft occurred on March 8, 2013, between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. The suspects parked in front of the victim’s residence in the 1800 block of Lupine Drive. It appears that there was a driver waiting in the vehicle while two females retrieved packages from the front porch of the victim’s residence. One suspect is a Black female, mid 20s; thin built, long braided hair, wearing dark clothing with a bandana in her hair. The second suspect appears to be a Hispanic female, mid 20s, heavy build, with long dark hair, wearing blue clothing. The suspect vehicle was a white four-door sedan. The suspects took a total of five packages, valued at $2,000.
Residents are encouraged to schedule deliveries of packages at a time or place where someone will be available to receive packages immediately.
