Electronically Serving Monterey Park, Alhambra, San Gabriel, & Rosemead

NEW BEGINNINGS

By Mona Raskin

2009 has brought a new change for Monterey Park and surrounding communities.  Our neighborhood newspaper “The Citizen’s Voice” has now evolved into cyber space!
It appears we will now be able to view our local news events by merely tuning on our computers and checking out the Internet. Many of us are already familiar with this additional source of information. Whether it is our national, global news, entertainment, travel, etc. In addition, we can now have the advantage of receiving our local events as well. In fact, we mo longer will have to wait until the newspaper arrives on our driveway or wet lawn. It is especially rough to venture out on a cold rainy day to secure a rather soggy wet newspaper. Inflatable Water Slide We surely hope our loyal readers will find this new way of receiving our local news an improvement in reaching our community.
It is extremely important that we are constantly made aware of any serious matters, as well. Whether, it is a nearby fire, earthquake, flood, etc. We should be in tune for any special procedures, precautions or any other information.
We also find that our residents also want to be informed of our city’s special events such as a special awards banquet in honor of Nancy Arcuri (editor & publisher of The Citizen’s Voice) & T.C. Chung .The event takes place on Jan.29th.  On January 31st & February 1st, we will be celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration (Year of the Ox) on Garvey Avenue between Garfield & Alhambra Avenue. Saturday 11;a.m. to 8:30 p.m. & Sunday from 10;30 a.m. to 7;30 p.m.
Hope to see you there! Until then, Gung Hay Fat Choy!
