MONTEREY PARK ROTARY PLANS DEMOTION FOR PRESIDENT ALLISON YU

The Monterey Park Rotary will demote President Allison Yu on Friday evening, June 29th at 6:30 P.M. at the Capital Seafood, 755 West Garvey Avenue, Monterey Park. During President Yu’s term, the Monterey Park Rotary worked with the new Interact Club at Mark Keppel High School on joint projects benefiting the community – i.e. decorating the Rotary float for the Pasadena Rose Parade, raising $1,000 for the American Cancer Society through having a team walk in Monterey Park’s first annual American Breast Cancer Walk, painting the cat room at the San Gabriel Animal Shelter, contributing to wheelchair purchases to go to Mexico and helping with the Family Promise of San Gabriel Valley Empty Bowls fundraiser to benefit homeless families. In addition Monterey Park Rotary also contributed to the City of Monterey Park’s 4th of July celebration and served dinner to needy families at the Boys and Girls Club’s annual Chinese New Year event. President Yu “feels our club took an active role in helping out the community this year.” The community is welcome to attend the demotion to celebrate Yu’ accomplishments. Those planning to attend need to contact Demotion Chair Dr. Jonathan Tam (626) 758-8416 or E-mail him at jtamobgyn@yahoo.com.

He has more than ten years experience in the wholesale jewelry business. He is a graduate of UCLA with a degree in International Economics. Anantasin is married and has two small daughters. Anantasin says “I encourage others to join Rotary in order to make new friends, to learn new things and to make a difference in our community and the world.
