Cast members Lee Chen Norman, Tom Chou, Katrina Contreras, Larry Costales, Leonore del Carman, Mignon Delarre, Howard Fong, Lance Goin, YuFu Kuo, Cici Lau, Toy Lei, Vic Miyahira, Larry Parrish, Andriane Tafoya and Mihwa Koo entertained guests on March 25 in the Monterey Park City Council Chambers.

Mayor David Lau welcomed everyone to this special event to enjoy an afternoon of actors showcasing their talents.  Cici Lau, his wife and talented actress, produced this assembly as a Friend of the Library.

Guests enjoyed several mini performances during the afternoon showcase. The actors performed monologues from drama, comedy, classics and contemporary works based on plays, television shows and movies.

Many of the actors have worked on television shows and movies as well as local plays.

After their performances they took questions from the floor and the performers provided answers based on their personal experiences in show business.

The actors when they are auditing for a part in a play, television show or a movie do monologues and scene work.  They only use their words, expressions and manner of dress during the audition.  They do not use props until they have secured the role.

Mrs. Lau has produced several plays over the years to entertain the residents of Monterey Park.

Mayor thanked all of the performers for the outstanding performances and the guests for attending.  He thanked the library for promoting this showcase.
