Monterey Park Police Officers Arrest Residential Burglary Suspects
Monterey Park Police Officers arrested three suspects for Residential Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property on January 18 after an alert citizen called to report a suspicious vehicle in the area of the 1200 Block of Ridgecrest St. The citizen reported seeing subjects in a late model, Orange Dodge Challenger cruising in the neighborhood. The vehicle was not known to the area and the citizen was aware of recent burglaries in the area. Patrol officers quickly responded and contained the area. The driver of the vehicle was detained and two additional suspects ran from officers. One suspect fled to the roof of the 7-11 store at Monterey Pass Road and Floral Dr. Another was located hiding in a dumpster. The suspects were in possession of stolen property from a burglary that was discovered by the officers and detectives during their investigation.
The individuals booked are as follows: Kiara Camacho, F/B DOB 9-8-89, (Burglary) Ramon Wright, DOB 10-30-92, and David Grace, 9-14-89; (both charged with Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, and Resisting Arrest.) The investigation into possible involvement with other area burglaries is continuing.
Monterey Park Police have responded to an increasing number of Residential Burglaries in the past several months, particularly in the residential areas west of Atlantic Blvd. Citizens in all areas of the city are encouraged to report suspicious persons and vehicles in their neighborhoods by calling 9-1-1 and reporting a description of the individuals and activity they are observing. It is imperative that citizens report suspicious activity when it is occurring so that officers can investigate immediately.

Marijuana Grow Location Identified in Baldwin Park
On February 9, 2012 at approximately 1400 hrs detectives from the Monterey Park Police Department were serving a search warrant at 13826 Susquehanna Ave, Baldwin Park for crimes related to forgery / fraud. Once inside detectives found an indoor marijuana grow site with unknown liquids in plastic containers. As a precautionary measure the Los Angeles County Fire Department Hazardous Materials Unit was called to identify and assist with the materials. The house was deemed safe, but uninhabitable due to the modifications to the residence for electrical and irrigation needs. No one has been evacuated from this residential area.
The resident, Qi Liao, DOB 10-22-80 was arrested earlier in the day for 496 PC -Receiving Stolen Property and an outstanding San Bernardino County Sheriff Warrant for 23103 CVC – Reckless Driving. During his arrest detectives found additional stolen property, which led them to obtaining the search warrant for his residence. An additional charge of 11359 HS – Possession of Marijuana for Sales will be charged against Liao. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Alhambra Superior Court.
