SELECTS ALLISON YU AS ITS “YOUNG CAREERIST FOR 2012”

Monterey Park, CA—East Los Angeles-Montebello Business and Professional Women (BPW) selected Allison Yu, who is the Manager of First Sign Company in La Puente and current President of Rotary Club of Monterey Park, as its “Young Careerist for 2012.” Yu will be accepting the award at the Wednesday, January 25th dinner meeting of the East Los Angeles-Montebello BPW at the DoubleTree Hotel, 888 Montebello Blvd., Rosemead. Yu grew up in Arcadia. She has a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She plans to get her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. The First Sign Company was started by her father. After his death, she has managed the company which serves businesses in southern California and as far away as Las Vegas. She also works as a waitress at a Japanese Restaurant. Yu has been a member of the Rotary Club of Monterey Park for three years and is its youngest President ever. She is working with the Interact Club, which is the high school student arm of Rotary. With them she worked on Rotary’s float for the Pasadena Rose Parade. Yu will compete next at the Sierra Mar District BPW level on Saturday, April 21st.

The Young Careerist/Professional Program of BPW recognizes women and men between the ages of 21 and 35 who have been in their profession or business for at least a year.
