Girls State Alumni Installed

At the October 17th American Legion Auxiliary District 18 Meeting at Arcadia American Legion Post 247, Past Department President Odette Cuccaro of Monrovia installed the newly elected officers of the 2011 Girls State Alumni.  Installed were President Lara Darkjian, Glendora High (sponsored by Duarte Unit 830),Vice President Nicole Clark, Claremont High (Charter Cove Unit 755), Secretary/

Treasurer Michelle Ozaki, South Pasadena High (East Pasadena Unit 280), Chaplain Jessica Rivera, Sierra Vista High (Abraham Lincoln Unit 241), Sgt-at-Arms Julia Chen, West Covina High (West Covina Unit 790) and Marshal Jessica Hsuen, Gabrielino High (San Gabriel Unit 442). This group will spend the next few months aufblasbares zelt planning a Tea for the 2012 Girls State delegates when they will be indoctrinated in what to expect when they attend the 2012 session in June. The Tea has been set for May 20 2012 and with a Western theme and youthful enthusiasm, this promises to be a fun event.   Units in the San Gabriel Valley will soon be contacting local schools to set-up dates for interviewing Junior girls and selecting their new candidates.
