In September 1971 Nancy and her husband Frank Arcuri moved to Monterey Park. In 1986 Frank founded the newspaper THE MONTEREY PARK VOICE, which became THE CITIZEN’S VOICE. After her husband passed away in July 1996 Nancy Arcuri inherited the newspaper and continued to edit and publish the paper while working

Since taking over the newspaper, Arcuri has attended most of the semi-monthly meetings of the Monterey Park City Council. She also frequently testifies during the “Public Opportunity to Address the Council.” In addition, she attends, covers and photographs many of the evening and weekend meetings and events in Monterey Park and the surrounding area. Arcuri is a longtime member of the Monterey Park Historical Society and a member of The Concerned Citizens. May 17, 2008 Arcuri was the Honorary Grand Marshall of the Monterey Park Play Days Parade in recognition of her community involvement. In 2009 the United Democratic Club of Monterey Park awarded her the non-partisan “People Who Make a Difference Award” for all her contributions to the community.
