National Moment of Remembrance
10th Anniversary of September 11
On September 11, 2011, at 10:00 AM for one minute, the Monterey Park City Council urged the community to join us by the ringing of Church Bells, Fire and Police Sirens as a Moment of Remembrance.
At the September 7, 2011 City Council Meeting, the Council declared by toboggan aquatique gonflable proclamation that they join the U.S. Senate’s resolution adopted on July 22nd establishing a National Moment of Remembrance on September 11, 2011 to honor and remember our September 11th heroes-the passengers and crews of American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight I75, American Airlines Flight 77, United Airlines Flight 93, those lost from the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, the Port Authority Police Department, the Fire Department of New York, and the New York Police Department.
We honor those who braved extreme conditions to help with rescue efforts —- the countless fire departments, police departments, first responders, governmental officials, workers, emergency medical personnel, and volunteers.
We also honor those in the United States Armed Forces, who on a daily basis are fighting for our freedom and liberty and have dedicated their lives to battle terrorism so that America will never again experience another September 11th tragedy.
Though forever changed, we will never forget and we will forever prevail.
