Monterey Park Police Department is releasing the booking photo of the individual arrested yesterday for Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Attempted Rape, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Officers responded to a call of a woman requesting help in the 2200 block of S. Atlantic Blvd. yesterday at 0946hrs. They found an injured female adult at the scene. Further investigation revealed that the suspect lured the victim into a storage area in the building, where she was brutally attacked, tied up, and locked in a large container. The victim managed to parc gonflable escape and summon help. Patrol officers and investigators began an immediate search for the named suspect.

Lee was located and arrested by a patrol officer who observed the suspect vehicle driving in the area. He was arrested without incident. Although the investigation is continuing, Lee is believed to be the sole suspect in this crime.

The individual in custody is Robert Y. Lee, DOB 7-15-1974. He is a M/Chinese/5-10/150/Black hair/brown eyes. Lee is a resident of Walnut. He is being held at the Monterey Park City jail.
