Katalina Rodriguez, Dale Butler, Lily Butler and Stephen Lam were several of the cooks who prepared the famous Ham & Eggs Breakfast with all the pancakes you could eat.

Breakfast3

Jim Smith, the acting Police Chief and the Lions’ Egg Specialist, spent all morning scrambling or frying eggs to order.

Breakfast4

Lucy Kelley, Gloria Guerrero and Lily Frutos enjoyed the good food and conversation. This event joins longtime residents, new residents and old neighbors together.

Breakfast5

Assemblymember Mike Eng and Stephen Lam enjoyed the morning event.

Breakfast6

Sheldon Hess, Congressmember Judy Chu, Assemblymember Mike Eng and Councilmember Anthony Wong enjoyed their visit. Mr. Eng was taking a pancake to go as they had a busy schedule that day.

Judy Chu and Mike Eng are longtime residents of Monterey Park. They attend as many local events as their busy schedules allow them.

This event is the major fundraiser for the Lions Club. They use the funds raised for screening the eyes of local elementary school students. They also collect old glasses that maybe recycled for people who cannot afford to buy glasses for themselves or their family members.

The Lions Club built the Lions Manor and manages it today. It is a non-profit senior housing complex.

The Lions Club created Nationwide White Cane Days to raise funds to improve the sight of many people around the world.  They have the machine located in their club building. It is truly a sight to see how the white canes are created.

The Lions Club has built the Service Club House, the original Memorial Bowl, the drinking fountains and restrooms in Barnes Park and other parks in the city.

The Lions Club members display the American Flags on Garvey Blvd. before special holidays.

The Lions Club also support the local youth groups that include the Boy’s and Girl’s Club.

They accept donations and used glasses anytime of the year.  Contact a Lion to make your donations.

Students from Mark Keppel and the Leo Club set up the dining area, served the food and drinks and cleaned up the area to raise funds for their student events.
