MONTEREY PARK ROTARY PLANS DEMOTION FOR PRESIDENT TIM MOTTS


The Monterey Park Rotary will demote President Tim Motts, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley, on Friday evening, June 24th at 7:00 P.M. at the Capital Seafood, 755 West Garvey Avenue, Monterey Park. During President Motts’ term, the Monterey Park Rotary started an Interact Club with 25 members at Mark Keppel High School, acquired a grant and created a community garden at the Boys and Girls Club, contributed to Rotary District 5300’s annual Peace Conference, aided the fundraising efforts for earthquake/tsunami relief, held its third annual Casino Night fundraiser, contributed to the City of Monterey Park’s 4th of July celebration and served dinner to needy families at the Boys and Girls Club’s Thanksgiving event. President Motts used his year in leadership to ensure all members of Monterey Park Rotary contributed to Rotary International’s Foundation, which continues tenda gonfiabile to work to eradicate polio, build water wells in Africa and do other projects around the world. The community is welcome to attend the demotion to celebrate Motts’  accomplishments. Allison Yu will also be installed as Monterey Park Rotary President for 2011-2012. Yu is the youngest President in the history of Monterey Park Rotary. She has a sign-making business in Arcadia. She follows in the footsteps of her father who President of Monterey Park Rotary a few years ago. Along with her youth she brings energy to Monterey Park Rotary to continue and expand the activities that benefit the community and the world. Yu says “”As my term as Monterey Park Rotary Club President is approaching, I am excited to work with the local community in our upcoming projects. I am really looking forward to getting involved with the youth in our new Interact club at Mark Keppel High School. I hope we can do more joint projects with them throughout the year.”
