On May 23, 2011, the Monterey Park Police Department received a call from a business owner reporting he received a threatening phone call demanding money.

In past investigations, it appeared the suspects were gonfiabile percorso ad ostacoli using a Chinese business directory for the phone numbers and had no other knowledge of the intended victims.

The Monterey Park Police Department in past years has had similar incidents where Asian businesspersons were telephoned and money was demanded for the caller’s brothers.

There are no reported incidents of any of the threats being carried out or businesspersons paying money to the suspects. Department Investigators are working with other local and federal agencies on similar crimes.
