Segment of State Highway Route 60 to be Named in Honor of Slain Community Leader, Roberto “Bobby” Salcedo
Assemblymember Mike Eng dedicated of a portion of the 60 freeway in the memory of Roberto “Bobby” Salcedo on April 19. Assemblymember Eng unveiled a model of the two memorial signs that aufblasbares zelt will be erected to mark the segment of 60 freeway that will be named in Roberto “Bobby” Salcedo’s honor. Mr. Salcedo’s family was present.
In December 2009, while on a trip to Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico, Robert “Bobby” Salcedo was one of six men whose lives were taken by the surmounting drug violence in the state of Durango. Through his lauded efforts to uplift the youth in the community of E1 Monte, Roberto “Bobby” Salcedo rapidly became a civic activist and leader in the fight to make higher education a tangible dream for many.
In 2010, Assemblymember Eng passed resolution ACR 174 designating the portion of State Highway Route 60 from Atlantic Boulevard in the City of Monterey Park to the city limit of the City of Rosemead, the Roberto “Bobby” Salcedo Memorial Highway.
