Electronically Serving Monterey Park, Alhambra, San Gabriel, & Rosemead

Museum Display

The Historical Society of Monterey Park invites you to enjoy an exhibit telling the story of the five Sister Cities sponsored by our city.

In 1956 President Dwight D. Eisenhower inaugurated this program to establish a greater friendship and understanding between the people of the United States and other nations through the inflatable water slide medium of direct personal contact.

Monterey Park’s Sister Cities are Nachikatsuura, Japan; Morelia, Mexico; Quanzhou, China; Yun Ho, Taiwan and Yeongdeungpo-Gu, Seoul, Korea.

The exhibit will be on public display through the end of May.

The museum is located at Garvey Ranch Park, 781 S. Orange Avenue in Monterey Park.

It is opened free to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
