San Gabriel’s Healthy “Eggs”straordinary Spring Celebration
Mr. Bunny has been hopping busy, getting ready for the 67th Annual Pancake Breakfast and Egg Hunt, sponsored by the San Gabriel Kiwanis Club and the Parks and Recreation Department. On Saturday, April 23, he will be hiding eggs at Smith Park, 232 W. Broadway in San Gabriel. Festivities include a Pancake Breakfast, Egg Hunt, Pancake Races and a Children’s Health and Safety Fair. The morning’s activities will get underway with the Pancake Breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. During breakfast you will be entertained by the Gabrielino High School Jazz Band. The donation for breakfast is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 10 will benefit the Kiwanis scholarship program. Come hungry because the morning menu will be pancakes, sausage, orange juice, and coffee or milk. Bring your pancake turner from home to be part of the exciting Pancake Races, which begin at 9:00 a.m. This popular one of a kind event will include bouncy castle for sale races for children and adults of all ages. Contestants will run 100 feet while trying to balance a pancake on a pancake turner. Local businesses have donated a variety of great prizes for the winners in each category.
The Children’s Health and Safety Fair is sponsored by Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis Division 10, it is their K-ONE Day Event. The screenings will include dental and vision screenings, along with safety and health-related games and activities. All Children’s Health and Safety Fair activities are Free.
The Spring Celebration will continue with the Egg Hunt at 10:00 a.m. Every boy and girl ages 6 and under is invited to hunt for eggs at this free event.
