THE HOUSING RIGHTS CENTER AND THE CITY OF MONTEREY PARK WILL HOST A FREE “FAIR HOUSING WORKSHOP” FOR MONTEREY PARK LANDLORDS AND MANAGERS

The Housing Rights Center, in collaboration with the city of Monterey Park, will be hosting a Fair Housing Workshop for local housing providers to discuss the fair housing laws, unlawful housing discrimination practices, protected classes and landlord-tenant rights and responsibilities.

The Fair Housing Workshop seeks to inform and educate landlords and managers of the city of Monterey Park on the federal and state fair housing laws, what is unlawful under the fair housing laws, and how to avoid
discrimination in housing. The workshop will also present an overview of basic landlord-tenant rights and responsibilities regarding rent increases, evictions, notices, and more. Furthermore, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding housing discrimination and landlord-tenant issues.
