On April 10, 2011 the auxiliary of the Richard L. Luy American Legion Post 397 will hold a spring dance at 338 S. Ramona Ave., Monterey Park, across from Barnes Park. Dancers will enjoy two bands, 5-Star, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and In the Mix from 5:30 to 8:30. These bands will appeal to all age groups. Food will be served at a nominal cost. Pre-sale tickets will be $7 and tickets on that day will be $9.

Tickets can be purchased at the American Legion Post 397 and from any Auxiliary member. Plan on joining us.

Upcoming events include Auxiliary Meeting on April 12 at 5:30 at the Richard L. Luy American Legion Post, The Auxiliary is open to any woman of an immediate family member of an American Legion member or a deceased veteran. The Auxiliary plans to hold a Rummage Sale on April 30, 2011 so start thinking of what you can donate to this sale. Also, the Auxiliary plans to have poppies available to hand out beginning the first week of May until Memorial Day. Plan to support our veterans with this.

On April 20, the American Legion Post 397 veterans will meet at 6 p.m. and on April 21, 2011 a barbeque will be held at the post from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The American Legion Post 397 continues to have Fun Fridays, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Come meet family and friends after work and enjoy snacks.
