African-American Dance And Culture

On Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Friends Room of the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library, 318 South Ramona Avenue. Monterey Park CA 91754, Marcus Miller will perform music using various styles of African-American drums and percussion. Miller, who works in music, television, film and education, has an educational workshop series that he performs in schools, libraries and museums. He is the director of a youth percussion ensemble – the Young Drummers of Los Angeles.

This free program is open to all ages, and the Friends of the Library will provide refreshments.

Marcus Miller’s program comes courtesy of the lrv Willner Memorial Fund, which provides a series of free programs on ecology, multiculturalism and the environment.
