CITY HALL WILL CLOSE AT NOON ON FRIDAYS

EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 11, 2011

To assist the City in addressing a projected budget deficit, City of Monterey Park general (non-sworn) employees have agreed to a City proposed furlough representing a ten percent (10%) reduction in pay.

To accomplish this reduction in pay, non-sworn employees have agreed to have their salaries reduced by 8 hours per pay period (4 hours per work week) beginning February 5, 2011.

During the period of time that the furlough is in effect, City Hall hours shall be 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday.

City Manager Paul Talbot stated that he is grateful to the City employees’ who have demonstrated in a significant way that they understand the financial crisis that the City of Monterey Park is facing and that they have chosen to be partners with the City in seeking solutions.
