San Gabriel Fine Arts Association is proud to host a solo exhibit and sale of watercolor paintings by well known local artist, JOHN BOHNENBERGER from February 7 through March 5, 2011 at the *Glass Room Gallery (adjacent to the Mission Playhouse).  John’s paintings of landscapes, marinas and seascapes of America and beyond, hang in galleries and homes all over America and have garnered him significant awards along with a multitude of admirers and patrons.  San Gabriel Fine Arts is proud to have him as a member and we are grateful for his generous donations of paintings, time and talent.

Open Studio Paint In for Members (no instruction/no fee)

*Glass Room Gallery

Bring your own materials (including drop cloth and easel if needed) to paint or draw.  We will have some still life set ups and tables and chairs for your use.  This is a good opportunity to get out of the house and into a quiet workspace (indoors or in the garden outside the gallery) for a few hours and work on a painting for one of our upcoming shows. This is an experimental event.  If it is well attended we will schedule more dates.

Portrait/Figure Show

**Take in dates are March 8-11, 2011 (Tues.-Sat.) Noon to 4:00 pm

Entry forms and rules for the Portrait/Figure Show will be included with your newsletter and/or available at the Gallery in February. Reception at 3:30 pm after the demo on March 20, 2011.

March 20, 2011 (Sunday)-THREE EVENTS IN ONE DAY!

1 pm-Membership meeting

1:30-pm Art Demonstration – Open to the public

Light refreshments are served.  Raffle tickets are sold.

3:30-4:30 pm-PORTRAIT/FIGURE SHOW AWARDS PRESENTATION AND RECEPTION. EVERYONE IS INVITED!

**Take in dates are April 28, 2011 (Thursday) 2pm-8pm; and

April 29, 2011 (Friday) 8am-Noon

April 30, 2011 (Saturday)-Show 11 am-4: 30pm-

May 1, 2011 (Sunday) –Show 11am-4: 30pm

May 1, 2011 (Sunday)- Awards presentation 3:30-4:30pm

Pick up paintings after awards.

There is ample parking in the Mission Playhouse parking lot.  Regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 4 pm.

**PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR ENTRIES COMPLY WITH ALL SHOW RULES, especially as to size, framing and hanging requirements (no saw tooth hangers).
