Monster Mash
Residents of Monterey Park enjoyed the Monster Mash that was held at Barnes Park on October 19th.
They visited the famous “House of Horror” sponsored the members of the Parks Department.
Each City Department provided booths that sponsored games for children to play and earn candy.
A vampire was one of the guests who spent his time overlooking the event.
Over two thousand residents, some dressed in costumes , enjoyed this celebration.
Members of the Monterey Park Woman’s Club joined the party.
Members of the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library provided games for the children to play to earn their candy treats.
Their booths were decorated with little goblins much to the delight of the children.
A skeleton and a witch also joined the celebration.
Members of the Manta Rays Swim Team had a game booth and candy for the children.
Members of the Fire Department provided games and candy to the children of all ages to enjoy.
Another person dressed up from the “House of Horror” offered “Scream Cream” to the guests.
Children played games to earn candy.
Many families posed for group pictures in honor of the day.
Members of the Police Department passed out candy to the residents.
Young ladies had a chance to pose as Barbie for the day.
The children were dressed in many different costumes as part of their celebration.
Members of the city staff carved their pumpkins for the residents to vote on their choice for the best pumpkin in the event.
Residents were dressed up and enjoyed “Trick or Treating” in the park.
The event also featured many booths manned by local service clubs and local businesses as well as two food trucks.
This was one of the many local events held in Monterey Park.
