What is the Pink Patch Project? Our Pink Patch Project is an innovative public awareness campaign that is designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support City of Hope in combating the disease. The police officers sold Pink Patches and Pink Patches T-shirts to the guests. All of the proceeds were given to the City of Hope.

Monterey Park Police Department also sold Blue Patches to remind people about Autism Awareness.

The Car Show was held on October 7th in Barnes Park when many classic cars were on display by their proud owners. The picture is of a Classic Impala and a Classic Monte Carlo.

Many of these Classic cars were manufactured by Chevrolet, one of the most popular cars owned by many young men in California.

The Pink Impala presented by Felix Chevrolet drew a lot of attention from the guests at the car show. “Felix character was borrowed from the popular 1920s cartoon “Felix the Cat” by pioneering L.A. automobile dealer Winslow Felix, who opened Felix Chevrolet in 1921 at 12th Street and Grand Avenue. Felix was a friend of filmmaker Pat Sullivan, whose animation studio created the mischievous feline character.”

Monterey Park Police Department displayed an old-time police car so guests can see how advanced our police cars are today.

Los Angeles Police Department displayed an old-time police car so guests can see how advanced our police cars are today.

Monterey Park Police Department displayed their 900 Horse Power race car that was very loud as it was driven into the park. This car also drew a lot of attention from the guests.

Old Classic cars gave the guests a look back into our California car history when people of all ages enjoyed riding around their home towns with the friends.

Three old-time children’s toy cars were on display. The children could sit in these cars and peddle their way around their yards.

Several Classic motorcycles were on display for the guests to enjoy.

A 1964 Volkswagen Beetle was one of the many classic bugs on display for the guests to enjoy.

Monterey Park Police Department also display a much older police car for the guests to see how advances our police are today.

This event also had many information booths as well as food trucks and food booths.

The City of Monterey Park has a long tradition of celebrating many local  events in one of our 14 parks.
