Rosemead School District Introduces its 2023 Board of Trustees and Adopts its Meeting Schedule for the 2023 Calendar Year on December 13, 2022

Mr. Ronald Esquivel assumed the office of Board President and Mrs. Veronica Peña assumed the office
of Board Clerk, with Mr. John Quintanilla, Mrs. Diane Benitez, Ms. Nancy Armenta, as Trustees.

2023 BOARD OF TRUSTEES LEADERSHIP:
President Mr. Ronald Esquivel, a longtime resident of Rosemead and alumni of the Rosemead School District has served on the Rosemead School District Board of Trustees since 1999 and has served in the roles of
President, Clerk, and Trustee.
Clerk Mrs. Veronica Peña, a longtime resident of Rosemead and alumni of the Rosemead School District has served on the Rosemead School District Board of Trustees since 2017 and has served in the roles of Clerk and Trustee.
The Superintendent, administration, and staff look forward to working with the entire Board of Trustees to continue the great work of educating and supporting the students and staff of the Rosemead School District.

During its December 13th, 2022 meeting, the Board of Trustees also adopted its 2023 Calendar Year Meeting Schedule, as follows:

1st Thursday – Regular (Closed Session: 6:30 p.m. / Public/Open Session: 7:30 p.m.)
3rd Thursday – Regular Study Session (Public/Open Session: 6:30 p.m.)
The Board will reconvene to closed session after the completion of open session agenda items, if it is necessary to complete the closed session agenda.

2023 Board of Trustees meeting calendar is subject to change. Special meetings may be scheduled at any time following the Brown Act posting requirements. *Exceptions include, not limited to:
· January 2023 – scheduled the 3rd Thursday only to avoid Winter Break.
· April 2023 – scheduled the 3rd Thursday due to Spring Break.
· June 2023 – scheduled the 4th & 5th Thursdays due to Public Hearing and Budget Adoption.
· July 2023 – no meeting scheduled; special meetings will be scheduled as needed.
· December 2023 – Annual Organizational meeting with administration of the Oath of Office after the 2nd
Friday as per Education Code and the Interim Report is due by the 15th to the County.

The Rosemead School District (RSD) was established in 1859 and is a Local Education Agency (LEA) led by Superintendent Mr. Alejandro Ruvalcaba. The District’s education program includes students in preschool, transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, and grades 1st through 8th.
