Deborah Niblick, Senior Reference Librarian from the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library introduced the members of Taiko Project Band to the  125 or more guests attending this special event in honor of Asian American Pacific Islanders Month at Barnes Park  on May 14th.

The band members played several songs on the Taiko Drums and explained how the drums are created as well as other musical instruments used in their performances.

TAIKOPROJECT was founded in 2000 in Los Angeles, California by a group of young, emerging taiko drummers led by Bryan Yamami and Masato Baba.

TAIKOPROJECT is an ensemble of premiere taiko drummers dedicated to promoting and advancing the American art of taiko through public performances.
