The Housing Rights Center, in collaboration with the City or Monterey Park, will be hosting a Housing Rights Workshop for tenants to discuss tenants’ rights, the fair housing laws, housing discrimination and how to recognize housing discrimination.
The goal of the workshop is to educate residents about the fair housing laws and to address the problem of housing discrimination. Attendees will learn the characteristics that are protected by the fair housing laws and what practices are considered unlawful. The workshop will also present an overview of basic landlord-tenant rights and responsibilities regarding rent increases, evictions, notices, and more.
