Sally McMahon, Vice President of the California Federation of Business and Professional Women’s (CFBPW), will give an overview of the twelve Propositions on the November ballot at the East Los Angeles-Montebello Business and Professional Women’s Zoom meeting Wednesday, September 23, 2020 starting at

The November Propositions would restore the right to vote to people on parole; end the ban on Affirmative Action; tax some commercial property based on its market value; allow older, disabled and victims of natural disasters homeowners to take a portion of their property tax base with them to another property; allow cities to introduce new rent control laws or expand existing ones; approve or strike down a State law eliminating money bail; allow prosecutors to charge repeat or organized petty theft as a felony;
exempt companies such as Lyft and Uber from standard wage and hour restrictions, require dialysis clinics to have at least one physician on site at all times; would establish a Consumer Protection Agency; allow 17-year-olds to vote in a primary or special election as long as they turn 18 by the subsequent general election; would borrow $5.5 billion to fund stem research. McMahon will explain what the Propositions are and what a “Yes” or “No” vote means. For more information contact Linda Wilson at (626) 307-5650 or E-mail to lindalwilson@juno.com.
