MELISSA ODOTEI TO TALK TO EAST LOS ANGELES-MONTEBELLO BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN ABOUT THE INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION OF HOMELESSNESS AT NOVEMBER 20TH MEETING

Melissa Odotei, Acting Executive Director of Family Promise of San Gabriel Valley, will speak on the “Intervention And Prevention of Homelessness And After-Care” at the East Los Angeles-Montebello Business and Professional Women meeting Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in the Library Room, Marie Callender’s Restaurant, 220 S. Atlantic Blvd., Monterey Park (Networking starts at 4:30 p.m. with dinner to be at 5:00 p.m.). Attendees will be able to order off the menu. The program and dinner is open to all interested people. Odotei became the Acting Executive Director of Family Promise of San Gabriel Valley in October 2019. Starting in September 2016, she worked for Family Promise of San Gabriel Valley with the Alhambra School District providing case management, housing navigation and advocacy for homeless families and those who may become homeless within the school district. From 2012-15 she was Program and Grants Manager for Oasis USA and previously she was Assistant Director for Starlight Ministries, Emmanuel Gospel Center. Odotei has a Master’s in Social Work from Boston College and a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Human Services from Geneva College.

Family Promise of San Gabriel Valley, which helps homeless families via an interfaith network of thirteen host churches and more than five support churches in the west San Gabriel Valley, has served more than 70 families through its congregational network shelter program and more than 90 families through the Alhambra Promise program. Family Promise of San Gabriel Valley has impacted the lives of more than 440 children since it was formed in 2011.  Family Promise of San Gabriel Valley is a 501 (c) 3 organization.
