AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY DISTRICT 18 TO INSTALL NEW OFFICERS


American Legion Auxiliary District 18 President DeNyse Laugeson of El Monte and her delegation returned from the 91st annual Department (State) Convention in Fresno recently with many awards, including Americanism, Children & Youth, National Security, Public Relations, Membership and Veteran Activities & Rehabilitation.

Installation of the new Department of California President Pilar Reyes of Oakland, District 10, and Vice President Linda Fercho of Camarillo, District 16, along with the 30 District Presidents closed the Convention.  President Reyes’ eligibility is her late husband Felix Reyes, A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and was escorted by her grandson, a Private First Class in the United States Army. Here theme is “M.U.S.I.C – Membership United in Service, Ideals and Commitment.”

Newly elected officers of District 18 American Legion Auxiliary, with 14 Units located throughout the San Gabriel Valley, will be installed on July 19th, 7:30 p.m., at El Monte Post 261, 4542 N Peck Rd., El Monte. President DeNyse Laugeson will be installed for a second term, along with other District officers, including 1st Vice President Kathy Pipkin of La Puente, 2nd Vice President Rhodona Enright of Temple City, Secretary Barbara Knight of Glendora, and Treasurer Patty Martinez of Covina.   Installation at 7:30 p.m. will be followed by refreshments hosted by El Monte Unit 261, La Puente Unit 75 and East Pasadena Unit 280.  Everyone is invited to attend,
