Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter Bunny visited his friends in Monterey Park on April 20th in front of City Hall.
Students from Mark Keppel High School manned the UNICEF game booths where young children enjoyed the egg toss for candy. They also created Easter artworks to share with their families.
Members of Trinity Church provided Easter Bags filled with candy, decals for temporary tattoos, candy beads to make jewelry and religious information.
Sam Luk from the LAMP Optimist Club welcomed all of the families to the Egg Hunt.
He advised the parents that their children should hunt for eggs in their age specified section.
1,400 eggs were filled with candy and 34 eggs had a winning ticket for an Easter basket.
The residents and their guests including children, parents and grandparents enjoying this wonderful Easter celebration.
Ryan Chow, a Student Leader from Mark Keppel and Club member, welcomed all of the guests to this very special event. He thanked the city, Trinity Church, his fellow students and city volunteers for their support.
Mayor Peter Chan and Mayor Pro Tem Hans Liang joined the party.
Mayor Chan thanked the city staff, the club and the church for this special event. He wished everyone a Happy Easter!

Student volunteers spread out all of the colorful eggs around just before hunt began.
Children between the ages of two to eleven picked up all of eggs. They opened up their eggs to enjoy the candy and see if they won an Easter basket.
