Los Angeles Marathon in Santa Monica

Board of Equalization (BOE) Vice Chair Antonio Vazquez held the finish tape for leading wheelchair and handcycle athletes completing the 34th Annual Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday, March 24, 2019.  The marathon commenced at Dodger Stadium, 1000 Elysian Park Avenue, Los Angeles, and ended at the intersection of Ocean Ave. and California Ave. in Santa Monica.

Vazquez is a constitutional elected official who represents Los Angeles County and is the former mayor of Santa Monica. “I am thrilled that the finish line is in my home town of Santa Monica, and that I’ll have a close-up opportunity to witness the culmination of these amazing athletes’ marathon journeys,” he said.

More than 24,000 athletes from all 50 states and over 63 countries will participate in the 2019 Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon, which is an annual 26-mile running event held each spring in Los Angeles, California.
