“A Way to Forgiveness” Documentary Film Screening at Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library
“A Way to Forgiveness” Documentary Film Screening at Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library
Filmmaker Erin Dooley will screen and discuss her film, “A Way to Forgiveness,” on Sunday, February 24 at 2 p.m. in the Friends Room on the second floor of the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library. The film documents Dooley’s journey walking 550 miles across northern Spain on the centuries-old pilgrimage, the Camino de Santiago.
The film chronicles her discussions with pilgrims about forgiveness as they walk the Camino de Santiago. Dooley embarked on the journey as a way to heal from the end of her 12-year marriage. The exploration of the history and landscape of Spain, as well as the messages of forgiveness from others, led her on a path of healing and forgiveness.
Author and blogger Kevin Craig reviewed the film saying, “This deeply personal and contemplative look into the gift and burden of forgiveness is a must see documentary.” Dooley will talk about forgiveness following the 45 minute film screening. She has screened the film with audiences at libraries, schools, churches and other organizations and says, “It‘s very moving to see how the message of forgiveness is impacting lives in very powerful ways. One person even called someone from the parking lot after viewing the film to call someone and ask for forgiveness.”
