911 Emergency
On May 1 0, 2010, at approximately 2:08 p.m., the Monterey Park Police Department
Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a single vehicle traffic collision in the
1400 block of Kern Avenue in Monterey Park.
Monterey Park Police and Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and discovered that a 1987 Toyota Camry had collided with a tree along the west embankment.
Monterey Park Fire Department personnel removed the driver, identified as 60-year-old Juan Cisneros from Los Angeles, from the vehicle.
Paramedics began life saving emergency procedures (C.P.R.), but were unable to resuscitate the driver and he was pronounced dead at scene.
According to witnesses, the vehicle was traveling south bound in the number one lane of Kern Ave. at approximately 40 m.p.h. when the driver hit the west curb line, continued west bound along the embankment and collided with a tree.
The cause of the collision and cause of death is unknown at this time. The Inflatable Water Slide incident is currently under investigation by the Monterey Park Police Department’s Traffic Bureau and the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
