The City of Monterey Park Environmental Commission will be celebrating Earth Day on Saturday, April 24, 2010, 10:00 AM to noon, at the Barnes Park Service Club House, 440 S. McPherrin Ave., Monterey Park.

Assembly Member Mike Eng will speak on environmental legislation and programs at the State; representative from Edison will present the Smart-Meters / Smart Grid program and City departments will highlight Green projects that are in the works.

Edison is sponsoring the event with a free lunch to all attendees. Environmental organizations will be providing educational material as well as freebies and promotional material.
